3.27.2011 Southern Vintage Wedding Gala: Styled Shoot

Hello and welcome to my very first blog!

I am so excited about what the future holds as I start out on my own floral design company and getting to share snippets of what I'm up to with each of you all.  After over 30 years of growing and working along side my parent's floral business, I've decided to venture off on my own...and what better way to kick off my new company than with a debut at Southern Vintage Wedding Gala hosted by Stone Oak Ranch in Murchison, Texas.

For the gala event, I created a table centerpiece with a soft and romantic feel, featuring some of my favorite flowers: garden roses, peonies, hydrangeas, and ranunculus.  I also added a bit of Queen Anne's Lace, hanging amaranthus, and hazelnut branches accented with vintage crystals to give a whimsical touch.

When it comes to floral design, I enjoy being able to create something unique but with a very natural, timeless feel. For instance, I love incorporating elements such as vines, succulents, bromeliad plants, mosses, and just about any other piece of nature I can get my hands on into my designs. This mixture of natural elements and more unusual flowers in my bouquet exemplify how I interpret design.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you will be inspired by what you see!
